Who is it for? The Cervelo P3 is for a rider who wants exceptional aerodynamics and lateral stiffness in a well priced and very proven package.

Noteworthy: A benchmark since the day it was born, the latest generation P3 only enhances the pedigree and vastly enhances how many people it fits.

Bottom Line: The Cervelo P3 was an immediate success when it was introduced and quickly became the standard that all other TT/tri frames were judged against.  The original Cervelo P3 SL was an aluminum frame that was replaced a few years later by the carbon fiber P3C (now just called the “P3” again).  Over the years, no other frame won more professional level TT’s and triathlons than the Cervelo P3 and the legacy continues today.   Despite massive changes from its competitors, the Cervelo P3 remained virtually unchanged and very competitive for almost seven years; it took that many years for its competitors to start to bridge the gap.

While the first generation P3 carbon frames with the deeply curved seattube shielding the rear wheel will likely always remain a hallmark in terms of visual appearance, the next generation P3 that was introduced at the end of 2013 is no shrinking violet.  While less angular than the Cervelo P5, the P3 continues to offer very strong aerodynamics in combination with the stiffness and lightweight enhancing features like BBRight and tapered forks that define a leading edge Tri/TT bike.  Furthermore, the new P5 inspired geometry of the Cervelo P3 has increased the audience who fits well on the P3 significantly.  The Cervelo P3 now offers pro level performance without the limitation of “pro only” geometry.

If you want Ferrari performance (and looks) at Mustang pricing, and you fit on it well, the Cervelo P3 is a great option.   Get fit first.   Then, if it fits you well, rest assured that the Cervelo P3 will not let you down…
