It is starting to feel like Fat Bike season!

With frost warnings in the weather forecast, it is time to start thinking about the change of the seasons and how to have as much fun as possible on your bike through the winter.  Fat Bikes can be a lot of fun and Fit Werx offers a few quality brands of Fat Bikes including Felt, Fatback, Trek and Moots.   New Felt models just started to roll into Fit Werx locations in advance of winter and we should be seeing the first Fatbacks for ’16 in October.   At the top of the heap, Moots awesome titanium Frosthammer returns unchanged and we have a great example built up and on display at Fit Werx Lexington.   If you are thinking about a Fat Bike, be sure to contact us and we’d be happy to talk to you about what would make the most sense for your use and budget and get you set-up.

Felt DD10

The ’16 Felt DD10 is a great value.  Not only do you get a nice 6061 Hydroformed aluminum frame, but you get a Rock Shox Bluto RL A2 100mm travel suspension fork and an XT build kit with hydraulic disc brakes all for under $3000.  Felt also makes the Deore equipped DD30 with the same frame and a rigid fork for $2000 as well as the entry level DD70 starting at just $1500!  Companies like Felt have been driving the price of Fat Bikes down with value added packages.

Moots Frosthammer

Fat Bikes, like most bikes, come in many levels and Moots legendary Frosthammer demonstrates all that Fat Bike technology offers.  A detail oriented titanium frame like this Moots is well deserving of XTR and trick carbon Fat Bike wheels from HED!  Race it, ride it, just have fun with it!

Felt DD10 Rock Shox Bluto

The Rock Shox Bluto is becoming a more and more popular spec on Fat Bikes.  While they help smooth out the ride in the winter, they really expand the versatility of a Fat Bike and, especially when combined with a pair of “Plus” wheels and tires, make it a capable year round bike that can tackle the dirt and sand as well as the snow.Felt DD10 Drivetrain

Shimano Deore XT parts have always been hard to fault and the spec of the Felt DD10 makes it a great value and a true performer.

If you give up the Rock Shox Bluto and go a step down the component chain to Shimano Deore, Felt and Fit Werx offer the DD30 starting at $2000 with the same frame as the DD10, but with a rigid fork.

Surly Big Fat Larry

We equipped this Moots Frosthammer with lightweight HED Carbon fat wheels and the monstrous Surly Big Fat Larry 26 x 4.7″ tire.  This Moots is one Fat Bike that is ready to float and roll over most anything that may stand in front of it!

Moots Ti Seatpost

Moots makes their titanium accessories and parts to the same high standards as their legendary titanium frames.  The Moots titanium seatpost and titanium stem on this Moots Frosthammer color coordinates with the frame highlights and finish and really tops off this great build.  Oh yeah, they also do a super job of holding the saddle and handlebar!

Moots Frosthammer XTR

Shimano XTR, RaceFace Carbon bars, Moots Titanium stem, matching Chris King Headset…  This Moots Frosthammer will elicit”droolcicles” this winter like few others.

Felt, Fatback, Moots, Surly, Trek…   Let’s figure out your new Fat Bike now, well in advance of the snow, and keep you riding as the seasons change.  Contact us or stop-in!
