Bicycles and Frames

There are so many well made bikes available on the market. The real challenge isn't finding a well-made bike - it is finding a well-made bike that fits your body, weight and riding style well without compromising on ride quality, handling and stability. For this reason, what you buy often is not nearly as important as where you buy.

We stock frames and bicycles from the finest specialty builders: Aegis, Cervelo, Elite Bicycles, Guru, Independent Fabrication, KUOTA, Parlee Cycles, Serotta and Gunnar Cross. Prices on our bikes start at $1500 and our in-stock bikes are available for long demonstration rides (the only type that can truly tell you anything about how a bike rides).

We can special order bikes from most specialty manufacturers. Examples include Kestrel, Colnago, Moots, Gunnar, SoulCraft, Fondriest, Salsa, Surly and Quintana Roo.

Why should you get a Fit Werx' fit before you choose your next bike?

An estimated 85-90% of riders are on improperly fit bicycles and are thus compromising their comfort, performance and ability to avoid injury. Buying a bike at a bike shop often consists of a basic sizing that may range from just standing over the bicycle and seeing if you have clearance over the top tube to taking a few basic measurements and making a recommendation based upon a computer program, formula or "rules of thumb" they have picked up. These methods are not scientific, comprehensive, or based on the individual and thus often lead to purchases that are fit and designed poorly for the rider.

If important fitting steps such as range of motion and core strength analysis are not completed before the bike is designed, chances are that the bike will be designed and built to the wrong specifications. Many of our existing bike fits are done with people who are in this unfortunate and compromising situation. By approaching rider positioning and bike design through a scientific and research based perspective, we position you properly and design your bike right the first time. This removes the compromise and guarantees you the most comfortable and best riding bicycle possible. Purchasing a high-end bicycle using a less scientific and comprehensive approach is a risky venture that often results in a compromised end product. Remember, you are not just buying a bike - you are buying a long-term experience.

We are not a mass-market bike shop, so we don't tend to work with big marketing based bicycle companies that seem more concerned with creating a flashy pro inspired look than an appropriate bike design for most people's riding. Do you ride as much and as fast as Lance or Mario? Do you have your own cook and massage therapist? Do you get the same amount of rest and recovery time as they do? If not, is a frame designed to work best for them really your best option? Instead, we work with specialty companies who lead their categories in terms of materials, research, technology, craftsmanship and proper fit and design. Companies that build bikes for individuals - not for "averages".

Our pricing is competitive - see Fit Werx vs. Mail Order for a comparison - and if we don't carry something you have your heart set-on, just ask, as we have access to most specialty bicycle manufacturers and can often meet special requests.
